All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

            • Game Play
              • Playing
                • On each turn you must lay a card of the same suit or the same numerical value as the card atop the waste pile.
                • If you are not able to make a valid move (or are able to but do not want to because you are saving a Jack for late in the game) you must pull a card from the stock pile. After picking a card from the stock pile, if that card enables a valid move you can make it, or you can click the skip button to end your turn.
                • Special cards
                  • This game has 3 special cards: Jacks, 7 and 8.
                  • If the person before you lays an 8 your turn is skipped.
                  • If the person before you lays a 7 you must also lay a 7 or else you are required to pick up 2 cards.
                    • The 7 pick up feature acts like a chain, so if 2 players in a row lay a 7 then the next player needs to lay a 7 or pick up 4 cards.
                    • Jacks act as a wild and can be laid at any time. When you lay a Jack you can also choose to change suits.
                      • Card values
                        • 8 are worth 50 points each
                        • Aces are worth 1
                        • Face cards are worth 10
                        • Scoring
                          • Whoever has the worst hand value at the end of the hand scores zero points, while the hand winner scores the value of the cards in the worst hand.
                          • The second and third place players score the difference between the values of their own hand and what the worst place player had.
                          • Let’s say a player had an 8 and a 3 in their hands at the end of the game.
                            • That would mean if they had the worst hand the winner would score 53 points.
                            • If another player was holding a 4 and an Ace at the end of that same hand they would score 48 points (53 minus 5).
                            • In the traditional version of this game (with physical cards) a player must state Mau before laying their last card & Mau Mau before laying their last card if it is a Jack.
                              • One has no voice input in this game so the above does not carry over.
                              • In some variations of the game ending the game on a Jack doubles the point totals for that hand, though this video game does not do that.
                              • Strategy
                                • If you have many of one suit or many of a specific numerical card value try to thin those out early so it is easier for you to make matches later in the hand by still having coverage across multiple suits & numbers.
                                • The outsized value of 8s in this game makes it important to get rid of them as early in the game as you possibly can.
                                • Save your Jacks for late in the game as it becomes harder to make matches in suit or rank when you are holding fewer cards in your hand & the Jacks being wild give you a lot of flexibility.
                                • Other than Jacks try to get rid of higher value cards early in the game so you are not holding many pips in your hand. Most of your opponents will also play this way, which means your number values will be more aligned with theirs, making it easier to play.
                                • Target Audience
                                  • The game is suited for people of all ages who like card shedding games.
                                  • The game has no adult themed content.
