How to Play

Play Pet Link online for free. Pet Link is a timed 9-stage Mahjong Connect game where players must connect identical tiles using a line which turns at 90 degrees no more than twice. Clear the board quickly to maximize your score & use hints or shuffle the tiles if you are stuck. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the Play button in the lower left of the game’s welcome screen to start the first level.
- Levels are unlocked sequentially, though once you have beat a level you can’t go back to replay it without replaying all levels.
- Your web browser saves your game progress including beat levels and level scores.
- Near the play button there are buttons for how to play help advice, game high scores, and more games to play.
- In the lower left corner of the game’s welcome screen is a language select drop down.
- In the lower right corner of the game’s welcome screen are buttons for settings (to adjust game sounds or music & reset game progress), sharing the game on social networks, and game developer information.
- Game Controls
  - Desktop
    - Select a tile with your mouse left click button then select a matching tile which can be connected by a straight line that does not pass through other tiles or a line that turns at 90 degrees up to two times without running through other stones.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Touch the screen with a finger to select matching tiles to remove them.
      - Controls & indicators
        In the bottom left corner it shows which of the 9 levels you are on and what your cumulative game score is.
        To the right of those data points is a level timer.
        In the lower right corner there are 6 buttons to control game music, control game sound, shuffle board pieces, take a hint, pause the game, and switch to full screen mode.
        You can use the shuffle pieces and hints buttons up to 6 times, but it costs you points each time you use either.
        Shuffles and hints do not restore across levels.
        Game Play
        Matching stones
        You can connect any of the following:
        2 directly adjacent identical stones
        2 identical stones which can be connected with a straight line that does not pass through any other stones
        2 identical stones which can be connected with a line that turns 90 degrees once or twice while also not passing through any other stones
        Identical
        Some levels may show 3 different sized frogs on the board.
        You must exactly match the same animal size and design, rather than matching the broader species.
        Sliding / filling
        On levels where tiles do not move or fill in it is best to try to create gaps between columns so that almost every tile which is shown is open & can be matched.
        On levels where tiles move or fill in it is best to try to match tiles on the far side of the fill first & work on the near side that is being filled in later.
        Levels
        This game has 9 levels.
        All levels have the same layout with 7 rows containing 16 tiles each.
        Each level has 112 tiles or 56 tile pairs.
        Some levels do not fill or move, leaving gaps.
        Most levels do fill in at least one direction.
        Levels can fill in a single direction like left, right, up, or down.
        Levels can have some tiles fill in one direction while other tiles fill in another direction.
        One level might have the top have of the board fill upward & the bottom half of the board fill downward.
        Another level might have the top few rows fill left while the bottom few rows fill right.
        Levels are considered beat when you remove all tiles from the level.
        If no matches are possible the game will automatically shuffle the tiles for you.
        If you fail a level you can press the end game screen to end the game, or refresh the browser window then click on play on the welcome screen to resume your game on the level you lost.
        Scoring
        Your game score is cumulative across levels.
        Scoring points
        Each tile pair match is worth 100 points.
        You also earn bonus points for finishing levels quickly.
        You can earn over 1,700 points for remaining level time.
        Each time you make a match a bit more time is added to the remaining time meter.
        Spending points
        Shuffling tiles costs you 500 points.
        Requesting a hint costs you 300 points.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Connect games.
